Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about chiptuning and ECU software.

What is chiptuning?

Chiptuning is the optimization of calibration parameters in the engine control unit (ECU) based on vehicle, engine and operating conditions.

What is Stage 1?

Stage 1 is controlled ECU calibration within original hardware limits, targeting power and torque optimization.

Can Stage 1 damage my vehicle?

Controlled, vehicle-specific calibration considers safe operating ranges. Maintenance and conditions affect outcomes.

How long does the process take?

Duration varies by vehicle type, ECU model, programming method and requested service. Exact timing is shared after pre-assessment.

Is the original software saved?

Yes. The original ECU/TCU file is securely backed up before any work.

Can software be restored to original?

Yes. Your vehicle can be returned to factory settings using the backed-up original file.

What is the difference between OBD, Bench and Boot?

OBD uses the diagnostic port, Bench uses ECU pinout connection, Boot provides processor-level access. Method is selected based on ECU type.

Is the same software applied to every vehicle?

No. Each vehicle has different hardware, software version and conditions. Calibration is prepared per vehicle.

What is TCU software?

TCU software is calibration of shift behavior, torque management and limiter parameters in the transmission control unit.

Do you service tractors and heavy-duty vehicles?

Yes. In addition to passenger cars, we service commercial, heavy-duty, tractor and construction equipment.

How does remote tuning file service work?

Professional users upload ORI files on the ECUPrime platform, create requests and download MOD files after processing.

Who is ECUPrime for?

ECUPrime is a B2B file service platform developed for tuning workshops, service centers and professional chiptuning specialists.
